Stammerjohan.com is a hobby of Bob Stammerjohan in Turlock, CA. For over 20 years I have been designing simple and inexpensive websites for local small businesses and non-profits.
A few years ago I operated a small part-time home-based business, charging a modest fee for business sites and nothing for non-profits. Now I do it all for free, even though a couple of our sites are for acquaintances who own small businesses.
I didn't charge much back then because I didn't need the extra money and I did it more for fun than profit. However, doing it for money made it too much like work, so I gradually shed all of my paying customers and now do it totally for free. It's much more fun now.
The only costs my clientele now incur are for web hosting and domain name service fees to a third party — usually about $100 per year. I also require that they assume total ownership and liability for the site once it is published. I don't want to be burdened with legal hassles.

My websites are designed to be "responsive" to the size of the display on your viewing device. What you see spread across a wide-view computer screen will automatically shrink down into a single vertical column when viewed on a tablet or smart phone. The images will reduce in size proportionate to the reduction of the display screen, but the text content will maintain its readable font size. This makes the site easy to read & navigate on smart phones, which are normally more than 50% of website viewers.
